The INTR Thrust under the Systems hub of HKUST(GZ) will implement the advanced concept of "Cross-disciplinary Education," cultivate new-gen intelligent transportation talent, and promote innovative research focused on various applications in intelligent transportation.

We aspire to develop cutting-edge technologies that integrate transportation, communications, networking, artificial intelligence, and data science, for operations and management of multi-modal transportation systems to enhance the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of mobility for people, vehicles and goods.

Target Group and Enrollment

Current senior undergraduate or master students (Potential applicants to INTR PhD programs in the 2027-2028 intake) who are highly motivated and passionate towards scientific research and equipped with solid research skills.

Eligibility
−
  1. Potential applicants to INTR PhD programs in the 2027-2028 intake.
  2. Having obtained a relevant bachelor’s degree or master's degree, or going to receive the degree certificate by July 2027.
Application Materials

  1. Fill in your basic information in the online application form.
  2. Upload mandatory materials as below: CV, Degree Certificates or Certification of Enrollment (if you have not obtained Bachelor's or Master's degree), Latest Transcript(s).
  3. Upload other materials if applicable: Research proposal, Proof of English proficiency. Note: All materials must be authentic, Fabricating will lead to the withdrawal of admission

  • Excellent participants will be recommended for an offer and invited to submit an application via the Online Admission System.
Additional Information about Summer Camp

  1. The application fee is exempted for summer camp applicants.
  2. The university will provide accommodation to admitted students during the summer camp.
  3. HKUST(GZ) will provide insurance for admitted applicants during their stay on the campus. All students must comply with the relevant regulations issued by HKUST(GZ) and INTR Thrust for the Summer Camp.
